Featured Project: Palmetto Health Baptist - Multiple Projects

Industry: Healthcare
Scope: Renovation & New Construction

Location: Columbia, SC
Project Size: 2,000 - 5,000 SF

Hood Construction served as construction partner on three projects at Palmetto Health Baptist: the 3rd Floor renovations, the Cath Lab renovation, and the new construction of a new automated lab facility. The 5,000 SF 3rd floor renovations consisted of the complete renovation of the hospital's highest volume lobby and its adjoining Taylor Street pedestrian cross-walk. Coordination of uninterrupted traffic flow and ongoing patient and pedestrian safety were vital elements to the success of the project. The cath lab project was a technically difficult one due to the nature of the equipment utilized in the facility. For example, the lab required installation of independent HVAC, fire suppression, and humidity control systems into an existing portion of the hospital building. In addition, careful scheduling and communication played a vital role in bringing this project to successful completion. Over $5 million of specialized lab equipment was installed in the 4,000 SF automated lab facility, constructed by Hood.
