Hood Construction is Growing Our Headquarters

From our friends at Wilson Kibler– Hood Construction Corporation is actively engaged in the expansion of its current Columbia headquarters, following the purchase of the former Morris Furniture Warehouse building located at 1215 Shop Road. The 40,000-square-foot industrial property on two acres, which has been effectively vacant since 2009, will become the new home to Hood Construction’s corporate office, providing additional space for increased operational capacity.

George McCutchen, CCIM, SIOR of Wilson Kibler represented Hood and James Rogers and Lee Marsha, also of Wilson Kibler, represented the landlord in the purchase.  McCutchen said of the sale, “Mark’s can-do approach to adaptive reuse (and new) projects, and hard-working character is why Hood Construction has been so successful over the last 33 years.  The firm’s culture is driven by a client-focused approach, and it clearly shows in the highly-successful outcomes of their projects.”

1215 Shop Rd. was constructed in 1950 and initially housed a cut & sew garment factory of womenswear.  It was later expanded and renovated to include a fiberglass, boat manufacturing plant until Morris Furniture’s warehousing and retail sales opened in the 1970’s.

We are grateful for the help of Wilson-Kibler in this move, and excited to see our growth continue in the future.
