Brennen Building
Historic Renovation
Project Summary
This 14,000 SF project consists of the Historic Restoration of The Brennen Building, located near the SC State Capital, in downtown Columbia. This unique construction effort serves to support the original mid-1800ís building design, while restoring many of the beautiful early 1900 French Victorian features, such as a cast iron balcony and decorative window & door surrounds.
Plans called for extensive upgrades to mechanical, electrical & plumbing systems, along with elevator & stairwell additions, and a full roof replacement. The interior design included second floor business offices, restrooms and common areas ó while the first floor, street front spaces, serve a mixed-use.
