Project Summary
This 13-acre greenfield CM-R project consisted of two new facilities for the City of Sumter, including a 36,000 SF Police Department building and a 21,500 SF Fire Department facility.
Although both buildings were constructed simultaneously — each held completely separate, and customized, design scope and usage objectives — working with two separate owner/user groups throughout the project duration. Both buildings are designed with a steel and masonry structural system. The Police Department includes administrative offices, meeting rooms, a highly technical 911 call center, a two-bay sally port, lab space, records/evidence libraries, and more. The Fire Department scope included administrative offices, a conference room, training spaces, dorm-style living quarters with a full service commercial kitchen & dining center, and a 4-bay drive-through fire engine response center.
