Team Hood Construction Walks in Honor of Annie Viles at Midlands Heart Walk 2014

Columbia, SC – Hood Construction assembled a team of 15 walkers to participate in the American Heart Association’s Midlands Heart Walk 2014. The walk, which spanned 3.3 miles from Colonial Life Arena, down Gervais Street, across the Gervais Street Bridge, crossing through Cayce and back into Columbia via Blossom Street, garnered participation from a number of Midlands-area businesses and was an outstanding success. Human and canine walkers alike enjoyed the beautiful city walk and the chance to raise money for the American Heart Association.
Hood Construction was especially proud to walk in honor of the wife of a valued team member, Annie Viles, who received a heart transplant earlier this year. Annie’s husband, Jerry, is a superintendent at Hood with over 40 years’ experience in the construction industry. The opportunity to help raise money to take a stand against the #1 killer of Americans, while also honoring a dear friend of Hood Construction, was a rewarding experience for the entire Hood Team.
A heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated and donated to the Hood Team and contributed to this very worthy cause – together we will make a difference!
