Doug Long

Pre-Construction Manager

Doug began his career with Hood Construction in 2018, starting as an intern before coming on board full time as an employee in 2022. A 2020 graduate of Midlands Technical College with an Associates Degree in Building Construction Technologies, and a 2017 graduate of US Army Infantry School in Ft. Benning, GA, Doug is also an active member of the SC Army National Guard as an Apache pilot and has served one deployment for the SC Army National Guard under Operation Spartan Shield. In addition to numerous certifications received in his military career, Doug also is an Eagle Scout – a testament to his dedication and commitment to service and integrity. At Hood, in his role as Pre-Construction Manager, Doug works hand in hand with Project Management staff on this crucial part of project delivery. He provides accurate budgeting and value analysis to a wide variety of project types, and maintains close relationships with specialty contractors, vendors, and materials suppliers.

Outside of Hood and his military responsibilities, Doug and his wife, Carolann, enjoy completing a multitude of home improvement projects – where his construction expertise comes in very handy! From painting, to staining, and even some woodworking, they’re conquering it all one project at a time; All while preparing for the arrival of their new baby this summer. An outdoorsman at heart, Doug also enjoys hiking, target shooting, and the occasional round of golf.
